⛳️ Golf Recs for Our Fellow Golf Nerds

For those traveling in and looking to squeeze in a round, here are some of our favorite courses near Los Altos. Whether you're just trying to sneak in 9 holes or go full bucket-list mode, we've got you covered:

1. Baylands Golf Links

💰💰 • 🚗 ~15 min from Los Altos History Museum

A great public course with wide fairways, beautiful marshland views, and a laid-back vibe. Perfect for a casual pre-wedding round.

2. Half Moon Bay Golf Links (Old Course)

💰💰💰 • 🚗 ~45 min

Ocean views, dramatic cliffs, and the chance to pretend you're in a golf magazine photo shoot. Bring a jacket—it gets windy!

3. TPC Harding Park

💰💰 • 🚗 ~50 min

A former PGA Championship course right in SF. Tree-lined and tough, but fair—plus, you can brag that you played where the pros did.

4. Pasatiempo Golf Club

💰💰💰💰 • 🚗 ~50 min

Designed by Alister MacKenzie (same guy who did Augusta). It’s pricey, but it’s a stunner and well worth it for golf history buffs.

5. Pebble Beach (if you're feeling really inspired)

💰💰💰💰💰 • 🚗 ~1 hr 45 min

Yes, it’s iconic. Yes, it’s breathtaking. Yes, it’s $600+. But hey, if you want to mortgage your house for a tee time, we support your dreams.

🍽️ Our Favorite Food & Drink Spots

These are our go-to places for great meals and good vibes—whether you're grabbing a post-round bite, meeting friends for a drink, or just soaking in some Bay Area flavor.

1. Los Altos Grill

💰💰 • 🚶‍♀️~5 min walk

Our hometown favorite—cozy, consistent, and the cornbread is life-changing. (No reservations, so come early!)

2. Village Pub (Woodside)

💰💰💰 • 🚗 ~20 min

Elevated American fare with a Michelin star. Pro tip: sit at the bar for a more relaxed (and still delicious) experience.

3. Alpine Inn (Portola Valley)

💰 • 🚗 ~25 min

A legendary beer garden with picnic tables, burgers, and casual outdoor fun. Great for groups!

4. Che Fico (Palo Alto)

💰💰💰 • 🚗 ~15 min

A sister restaurant to the SF spot—think California-Italian small plates and house-made pasta. Ideal for a cozy date night.

5. Cafe Barrone (Menlo Park)

💰 • 🚗 ~15 min

Perfect for breakfast or a casual coffee. Big patio, great people-watching, and excellent pastries.

6. Vesta Pizza (Redwood City)

💰💰 • 🚗 ~20 min

Artisan pizza with sourdough crust, wood-fired goodness, and the best honey-drizzled pie. Casual and always hits the spot.

7. Iron Gate (Belmont)

💰💰💰 • 🚗 ~25 min

Old-school charm with white tablecloths, flambeed dishes, and a piano man. Feels like stepping into another era—in the best way.
